科德韋爾深空天體表拍攝計劃

剛完成了一項心願, 將梅西爾天體表拍了一次, 發現在拍攝、後製、觀察成果、查考天文學資料都是可以學到很多的過程, 所以再作嘗試, 打自將德韋爾深空天體表(Caldwell Catalogue)都拍一次。

科德韋爾深空天體表(Caldwell Catalogue)是由剛在去年去世的「皇家天文學家」Sir Patrick Moore在1995年編寫的, 但他的姓氏Moore和梅西爾Messier相同, 為免混亂, 他用了他的全姓Caldwell-Moore中的Caldwell來命名所選的109個深空天體, 簡寫為C1, C2, C3.... C108, C109。

和梅西爾不同, 這109個天體都不是Moore發現的, 他只是選出109個值得業餘天文學愛好者去留意的天體。這109個天體和梅西爾天體表沒有任何重疊, 相信Moore是要補充梅西爾天體表, 特別是梅西爾沒有包括的天體, 如玫瑰星雲、北美星雲等。

由於Moore不是要如梅西爾般排除彗星類似物, 所以範圍很廣的天體如畢宿星團(Hyades cluster)或煤袋星雲(Coalsack dark nebula)都包括在內。但表中也有很細小的貓眼行星狀星雲(Cat's eye planetary nebula), 大大小小的東西要用不同器材才可以拍。而科德韋爾深空天體表是由北至南排列, 由Dec+85的C1 到最南Dec-8的C109。這樣在單一地方是沒有可能拍得完的。種種困難, 希望可以一步步解決。

現在完成了的只得四分一多小許, 計拍了而未處理的有約四成, 部份這個季節沒法拍, 相信要一年後才有機會完成。
