Dear ATMers,
When the OTA has been finished, the center of mass of the OTA must first be found before anything meaningful could be further processed.
To find the center of mass of the telescope OTA is a very big job. We need to assembly the telescope, with EVERYTHING, including the finderscope and eyepiece, fixed onto the body and to carry out a beam-balance action. When the pivot is at a position such that the telescope tube balances itself – the pivot is at the position of center of mass.
We did it. We were exhausted. But now we can proceed to make the rocker box.
