2018 February 06 Sun - AR12699 & prominence
Finally, the clouds clear up and we have a blue sky.
I am a bit hungry for the Sun after 2 weeks "lay-off" and I decided to try using the ZWO ASI174MM camera. As the sensor is just 11 x 7.1 mm, whole disc image is not possible.
This group has a large leading sunspot and several small trailing ones. Flares show up mostly near the small sunspots.
Telescope: AP Starfire EDT 155 mm f/9.
stopped to 50 mm (f/28) for disc images, with 4X telecentric lens (f/36) for closeups
filter: Solar Spectrum SO1.5/0.3A with CERF prefilter
Camera: ASI174MM, 1936X1210 pixels (5.86 micron)
