2019 December 24 Sun at 12:00 UTC - 2 new active regions, will be AR12753 and AR12754
Today marks the 1st time in more than 1 year that 2 active regions show up: Apart from the new active region at high latitude (30 south), another appear at 26 north. Both come with bright flares and more than 1 sunspots.
From the magnetograms, magnetic reversal is observed for both groups, indicating both belong to the new 25th solar cycle.
As for first 25th Cycle AR appeared in 2016 December, in the southern hemisphere, today we have the first 25th Cycle AR in the northern hemisphere.
Things become more interesting.
