2020 September 10 Sun - prominences on the SE solar limb
The prominence images are better viewed in Ca-K than H-alpha. The reason is simple: when I switch to H-alpha, clouds prevent the imaging session.
I am showing the prominences in 2 wavelengths, if possible.
In general, the prominences are much brighter in H-alpha than in Ca-K, despite the much larger aperture (80 mm f/6.25 vs 35 mm f/11.5) used for H-alpha.
Sunspot count: group=0. sunspots=0, R=0
For H-alpha images:
Telescope: Lunt LS35T with B600 blocking filter
Camera : ASI174MM
exposure: 6.50 ms
For Ca-K images:
Telescope: Sharpstar AL-80 II, 8 cm f/6.25 APO refractor
Camera : ASI174MM
focal length : 500 mm f/6.25
filter: Lunt Ca-K Module B1200
exposure: 9.50 ms
approximately south is up, east to the left
