Patience in focusing and collimation is the key to using this weapon. I am sure anyone has more patience than me on these or I would not had sold my E180 a few years ago. Otherwise, need to go back to the usual tricks to hide problems: shrink the pic and crop away ugly regions.

Patience in focusing and collimation is the key to using this weapon. I am sure anyone has more patience than me on these or I would not had sold my E180 a few years ago. Otherwise, need to go back to the usual tricks to hide problems: shrink the pic and crop away ugly regions.

To achieve critical focus for such short focal ratio, a motorized stepper focuser would be helpful.

A Robofocus is of course perfect.

Otherwise a 1:10 mechanical and a Live View DSLR also helps.

E160 is a powerful instrument!
Critical collimation and focusing is a must in order to exploit its true potential. I'm sure Subaru or Mirror God can give you a hand on collimination. For focusing, a Bahtinov mask is a must. And then either a Robofocus or a 10:1 knob (or both) can not be skimmed...

Looks like you become a Takahashi fan!
