I mistakenly thought the DEC body is the RA body!

Hi Elton, that's right. The following pic can probably give you more idea on how large is the German EQ mount. I soon realize the finishing of the mount is rather rough indeed. In comparision, SB Paramount is much better built with the smaller loading capacity though.

This telescope is the key component of the QEF-funded remote observatory project aimed at promoting astronomy to high school students. It is scheduled to become fully operational in Lady Maclehose Holiday Village by Q1/2006. Meanwhile, this powerful workhorse has been serving at a governement facility in Tuen Mun for the intensive technical evaluation before the relocation. Hope this clarify.
