Hi all, I've made comet observations in the last consecutive five days, from Aug 09 to Aug 14. 10P/Tempel is an easy telescopic object of about 8m.5, while 103P/Hartley currently is pretty faint. However, the latter one will become favorable this fall well placed to northern hemisphere observers. According to current prediction, it might be naked eyed then.
Here'r some comet obs below:
10P/Tempel
10 2010 08 08.85 S 9.1 TK 20.0L 5 ?? 3 3 ICQ XX XU
10 2010 08 09.85 S 8.8 TK 20.0L 5 ?? 7 4 ICQ XX XU
10 2010 08 10.88 S 8.8 TK 20.0L 5 ?? 8 4 ICQ XX XU
10 2010 08 12.82 M 8.6 TK 20.0L 5 ?? 11.4 5 ICQ XX XU
(very clear sky)
10 2010 08 13.88 S 8.6 TK 20.0L 5 50 5.9 3 ICQ XX XU
(close encounter with 8.76m HIP 6499 and thereby strong influence upon my estimates)
103P/Hartley:
103 2010 08 8.77 S[12.1 TA 20.0L 5 ?? ICQ XX XU
103 2010 08 9.75 S[12.3 TA 20.0L 5 ?? ICQ XX XU
103 2010 08 10.82 S 12.8:TA 20.0L 5 50 1 4 ICQ XX XU
103 2010 08 13.79 S 12.8 TA 20.0L 5 125 1.2 4 ICQ XX XU
Note that I'm puzzled by the true focal length and thus focal ratio of my 20cm Dob as well as the focal lenght of a wide-field eyepiece. So far I hasn't truly worked them out for I ran into several contradiction during my measurements... I'll be appreciate for receiving assistance or guides from whoever has experience of doing such before.
