A preliminary report on the observation of the asteroid occultation event on 2019 November 14

We (Kenneith Hui, CL Chan and I) arrived at Hokoon at about 12:50 UTC, and the target star was located by 13:15 UTC.
While transparency is very poor, Asteroid (119) Althaea was visible in a 0.5 s exposure, so were 2 magnitude 10 stars to the west of Gamma Tauri.
A sequence of images (cropped to 800x600) were taken, and the asteroid was observed to move towards the target star, and by 13:50 UTC, the asteroid was close to "merged" into the glare of Gamma Tauri.

At this point, exposure was reduced to 10 ms and the recording was continued until 14:12 UTC, about 2 minute beyond the recommendation given by IOTA.
The on-screen image was monitored throughout the recording, but the image of the target star was there throughout the whole sequence of >46000 images.

Result: The occultation was a MISS. No occultation was observed to have occurred at Hokoon.

Telescope: 50-cm f/8 RC reflector
Camera: ASI1600MM Pro, cooled to -15C
binned 2x2
exposure : 500 ms for images with Althaera, and 10 ms for occultation timing.
The 1st image was not cropped, others were cropped 800x600
south is up and east to the left.
