Mono cam vs OSC
1. 6" vs 4"
Pixel sizes of 40D and 300D are 5.7 um and 7.4 um respectively. Then if shooting DSO with 300D + 6" scope, will this combination provide with resolution still a little bit better than the combination of 40D + 4" scope?
1st image: taken with DIY 6" F5 Newtonian + MPCC + LPS + 300Da @PTC in 2013 @750mm F5
2nd image: taken with Vixen AX103S astrograph + LPS + 40Da @PTC in 2013 @800mm F8
Cropped and resized to the same image scale in PI, applied almost the same processing on both images in PI and then final touch in PS with a little bit twisting separately.

Below is a stack of 3 sets of data taken with Vixen VC200L and R200SS and 100Da @PTC. By comparing with the image above taken with 4", seems quite obviously that the Dumbbell shows a little bit finer.

Stacked all the data taken with AX103S, VC200L and R200SS respectively and then combined the stacked colour image into the L channel taken with 30cm F4 Newtonian in Yuen Long

5. Comparison
Though this is an image combining with L channel (taken with 30cm F4 Newtonian + 1600MM) and color data (taken with 8" reflector + 100Da), I think you can still see the advantage of using a mono camera over a DSLR or OSC.
Another image was taken with 13.1" F4.5 Newtonian + 100Da in YL.
