I believe it's the low saturation of the stars instead of the white balance, as the readings show the R G B signals are quite close on most of the stars.HK.Raymond.Tse 寫:Stars have lost their natural colours.
Try the white balance on GV2 stars.
The only solution is to shoot under a dark sky, where I can have the photons in different wavelengths directly hitting the sensor, for a higher saturation image.

One of the 6 stars (2 rows of 3 stars each) at the centre should be yellow-orange instead of close values of RGB.
So are other red drawfs stars in the FOV. Not possible for all stars to be white
In comparison, an earlier image with insufficient exposure of 8 min x 3 taken at F7 by the slow QE modified 350D still shows some red star colours :-

Since the target I intent to capture is the Nebula, to bring the Nebula out is in a higher priority than catering the K or M type stars' colour, when filtering is needed under the heavily light polluted HK sky.
It was not too cold that night as it was 7C. There were some friends came that made the scene warmer.bingsze 寫:nice, due to your hard working and tolerance towaqrds the cold!!
The lowest I encountered there was 4C, in last December.
The biggest challenge I am facing is, it is really exhausting to move and set up the equipments, after the demanding daily job.
