M42 project

M42, an object I take every year in Hong Kong and have been imaging for more than 10 years. So, recently I started an attempt to combine all the images taken with different scopes and DSLRs, which I call it as M42 project, to see what the result will come out.

That is the first attempt of combining 3 sets of data taken in 2009, giving a total time of integration = 154 min.
1. 26x180s, taken with DED108SS film astrograph @iso 400,
2. 15x240s, taken with DED108SS film astrograph @iso 800,
3. 4x240s, taken with 6" F5 newtonian @iso 400

As some subs have no flat calibrated, the ugly dust shadow cannot be removed.
