Uploaded images recompressed??
Uploaded images recompressed??
While making a post just now, I found that my uploaded images were significantly less sharp than the original ones on my PC. Does the forum recompress upload images?? I do not seem to notice this problem in the past. If this is implemented recently, I think this is not a good idea since it significantly downgrades the quality of images posted...
You are right. It did not seem to have done so. The downloaded image is essentially identical to the original. But when the images are displayed within the post, they are obviously less sharp. Very strange.Wah!! 寫:I don't think there is such function in this forum.
Have you tried to download the images from forum, and then compare with your local images?
To see what I mean, perhaps you can download one and display it using some other tools side by side with the forum post...
During you posting image , there is two steps I think .
Step 1)
you attach the image before you press the "send button" and at this time you can see this image temporarily .
Step 2) The image is displayed after you send the post .
Thus , in step one . If you found the temporary image is different to your local one . It's just the temporary one which may have been did something by the forum software automatically .
In step two , if the final image shown on screen is same as your local one , means no problem at all . Otherwise , it's the problem of the forunm .

I know the source of the problem now. It is IE8!! It seems that all images displayed within my IE is fuzzy. No such problem when I view the page in Safari.Wah!! 寫:Wild guess:
1. Visual illusion
2. Different color space handling
I tried changing several settings, still cannot rectify the problem. May be a problem with IE8?? Anyone using IE8 here? I'll switch web browser if this cannot be resolved.
