Field and Observatory+ Versions

This mount is the solution for either a small observatory or a portable, yet stable and precise tracking platform. It offers a backlash free, smooth motion in both axes.
The slip clutch fastens gradually and the clutch handle itself is adjustable. The controls are straightforward and easy to access.

The Field version is based on the original G-41 design. However, nearly all parts are made of aluminium (except the gears of course) to save valuable weight.
There is no compromise in tracking quality, only the loading capacity is a little lower.
For your convenience the "No DEC cable" (the DEC motor cables are internally routed to the RA socket) option is introduced to eliminate the problem with the
twisting DEC cable.

The Observatory+ version has recieved a redesigned CNC machined RA head and a new fork base that is machined from an alu casting.
This material absorbs vibrations very effectively. The "No DEC cable" option is offered as standard,
which means a trouble free remote operation in your observatory.

Both models are equipped with a reinforced motor support and a new worm support system.

You just put the mount on the tripod, turn a conveniently placed handknob on the pier and you're ready to go!


The unique Direct Drive System provides you with complete freedom from backlash and the large periodic error associated with gear trains.
The mount reacts to your commands instantly - just as you would expect from a high precision drive system.
It uses the possible smallest number of pats - as a result it is reliable and compact.
Another benefit of the Direct Drive System is the high slewing speed of the motors.
We constantly improve the already negligible periodic error to increase your possibilities for unguided exposures.

The original Gemini polar finder uses three stars for alignment for high precision and freedom from reading star charts. You just find the position when the three circles on the reticle match the stars. It is more accurate than traditional "Star Drift" methods.

I will opt for the Losmandy. The APM mount has a bigger worm gear but craftmenship is as good as the Losmandy.
