Hi,
Near the dawn of 23/01, the sky was so haze that only 3 objects, the moon, Saturn and Jupiter, could be seen and they appeared not quite bright. In such a so poor sky conditions, what could you expect to have in planetary imaging?
Attached please find my 1st Saturn image taken in this new year. At the time of taking it, the seeing was not too poor. I originally wished to capture the Encke gap but finally failed.
This image was taken through a 12.5" F5 Newtonian + 3x barlow + ToUcam at 5fps, and it was finally resized at 150% with PS. I tried to process this image close to what was viewed through the eyepiece as possible as I could.
Very sadly that this 12.5" as well as its owner could only deliver the performance just a little better than a good 8" telescope!
Wish the sky would "recover" back to those days in 80s' soon,
LT
