Dear ATMs,
The central portion of the mirror is nearly done and so we moved our battlefield to the edge zone. This is a tricky business as we have to deliberately create a turned down edge and remove it afterwards.
As usual it is not easy to make change in big mirror. The progress is very very slow. After about 1.5 hours of HARD working we detected a very slight turned edge under the Offner testng. Nothing happens fast but at least we get a starting of what we wanted.
The human fresh figuring machine is working at its full load. We are removing huge amount of glass at specific area of the mirror each day ( from Mon to Fri ). Apart from making a telescope we are also making history.
